At the June 1 meeting of Fox Valley Initiative, Steve Goreham—executive director of the Climate Science Coalition of America, policy advisor to The Heartland Institute, and author of four books on climate change—gave a fact-filled, common-sense presentation discussing climate change alarmism. He presented data showing much of climate change, if not all, is a natural phenomenon.

Goreham also addressed renewable energy, which is often said to be “necessary” because of “climate change.” Goreham noted solar panel and wind turbine farms have an enormous environmental footprint, requiring acres upon acres of land … and nevertheless producing significantly less energy than nuclear- or fossil-fuel-powered plants. Blackouts such as those experienced in California and Texas are inevitable when states rely too heavily on wind and solar.

Finally, Goreham discussed AI and the environmental impact of data centers. He suggested communities in the United States should welcome data centers but only carefully, making sure guidelines are in place. He specifically noted that data centers can be constructed with minimal environmental impact (except, of course, for the significant amounts of land they require) if they are required to use closed-loop or zero-water systems and bring their own power supplies so as not to burden the local community’s grid.

Goreham closed his presentation by taking audience questions and noting he is available to speak at corporate meetings and other venues.

About Fox Valley Initiative

FVI has received 501c4 status and is changing its name to Fox Valley Conservatives (FVC). The mission of FVC is to inform and activate the voting public.

The next monthly public forum of FVC will be on July 6, 2026, from 6:30-8PM at the Freedom Project Academy in Appleton. The subject will be, “Protecting children from sexual predators in our schools.”

In just this past year, there have been multiple stories of children and school systems in our area harmed by the sexual misconduct of staff members. Laura Ackmann, Winnebago County and state regional coordinator for Moms for Liberty (MFL) will give an update of the activities of MFL on this issue. Carolyn Pierre of Guardian School Consulting [invited] will review that group’s effort in assisting school districts in strengthening their prevention policy and compliance efforts related to employee sexual misconduct.
