Wolf River Area Patriots hosted a meeting in New London on April 26 that drew a big crowd, nearly 80 people attended. The meeting took place in the “Washington Center” — a huge old high school that has been converted into an assisted living facility. People were selling lawn signs that said “Trump 2024” and “Worst Governor Evers.”
Chris Martinson, newly elected president of the New London school board, thanked the Tea Party for his election, said there is now a 5 to 2 conservative majority on the board, and they are battling to keep transgender training and Critical Race Theory out of classrooms and trying to bring back tech instruction (e.g., small engine repair).
WI State Rep. Janel Brandtjen talked about the 2020 stolen election and showed a clip from “Rigged: The Zuckerberg-funded Plot to Defeat Donald Trump.” The documentary film is about 40 minutes long and features several Wisconsinites including Rep. Brandtjen and Justice Michael Gableman.
Brandtjen was terrific. Smart, brassy, self-confident, and well-rehearsed. Anyone who thinks the 2020 election in Wisconsin was “the most secure in history” hasn’t met Rep. Brandtjen.
She said four things were unique about the 2020 election: illegal drop boxes (130,000 votes), no special voting deputies in nursing homes (many of which reported 100% voter turnout), 47,000 first-time “indefinitely confined” voters (no ID required), and $10 million in private dollars from Mark Zuckerberg, 85% of it used illegally for get-out-the-vote efforts in five Democrat strongholds.
She also described Michael Spitzer-Rubenstein’s illegal presence in the counting room, the resignation of Green Bay’s municipal clerk in protest of his interference, and the mistreatment of Republican poll workers.
The audience was quiet at first, but got rowdy during the Q&A. Four or five men were loud, angry, and almost disrespectful of the speaker and others. They could not understand why bad actors haven’t been arrested, why the election hasn’t been decertified, why Republican members of Congress refer to Joe Biden as “Mr. President” when they “all must know” that he didn’t win the election.
Some real frustration was expressed with Wisconsin Republican leadership, in particular Speaker Robin Voss. Many people wanted to know what they, as individuals could do. Brandtjen seemed a little flat-footed (for the first time all evening) and could only recommend that folks become poll workers and sign the nomination petitions.
