Wisconsin State Sen. Andre Jacque, a candidate to represent the state's 8th Congressional District, spoke to Wolf River Area Patriots on April 23, 2024. Sen. Jacque warned "Our state and nation are headed in the wrong direction, and we're getting there fast."
He addressed a wide range of issues. On the national level, he identified Bidenflation, the growing national debt, and the porous southern border as key problems. He said the national debt ceiling "should be a tremendous tool for conservatives," but current members of Congress are afraid to use it for fear of being blamed by the liberal media for government shutdowns. "We're gonna get blamed by the liberal media regardless of what we do," he said, so "do the right thing!"
He also said "we have a Department of Education that shouldn't exist. We have a whole host of grant programs that shouldn't exist." He will seek not just to slow the growth in the size and cost of government, but actually cut it, he said. He also noted "single-subject bills are better than omnibus bills."
On foreign policy, he said "there are entire countries we should cut off funding for," and he has publicly said he would not be funding Ukraine. "The size of our hearts is not judged by the size of our [or other people's] wallets."
Sen. Jacque also discussed his record in the State Assembly and Senate, briefly touching on "sue and settle;" legislative oversight of federal money (such as the Covid $$ Evers distributed in "golf-tournament-sized checks"); the closing of churches and imposition of vaccine mandates; redistricting; and election integrity. On the latter, he emphasized "Meagan Wolfe should be gone."
Sen. Jacque's opponent in the November 5 general election would be Kristin Lyerly, a radical pro-abortion OB/GYN who encourages women who have had a miscarriage to say they've had an abortion, in order to "normalize" abortion.
